I'm currently drugged up to high heaven. Luckily, I've been off work for a few days, so this is ok. Also, these were prescribed; doubly ok. Remember how I said my back was really super bad? Well, it got even worse. So bad that I couldn't raise my hands over my head and couldn't bend over. I guess it was a good thing that I had a doctor's appointment that day or I would've really been in trouble..
So the doc put me on Arthrotec with Mioprostol which is supposed to help with the pain and keep my stomach from ripping itself apart and he gave me some muscle relaxers for night-time. That means I'm currently taking a grand total of five pills each night. Well, for another week, at least. I only need to take the back pills for two weeks.
It certainly didn't help my back when I went into work on Sunday for inventory. I was stuck in jewelry cases for 8 1/2 hours, scanning piece by piece, until I was finally done and able to go home. I wanted to die at that point. I dragged a chair over to sit for a bit while I scanned and Banshee made a comment about me thinking it was a day at the beach until I said "Hurt my back, remember?" and she walked away quickly. Stupid bitch.
But at least that stupid bitch kept her word and is in the process of setting up an appointment between the cosmetics rep and me for the open position that I'm hoping to transfer into. That should be coming up soon. Transfers usually go through the first week of February. Usually. Last year, mine didn't go through until half way through February because Banshee couldn't get her act together quickly enough. I'm hoping this won't be the case again.
I think she's afraid of not transferring me. She might have a full-on riot on her hands. Nearly the entire department was angry with her when I didn't get the last job opening. But enough about work. I haven't been there much this week anyway. Thanks to weird scheduling, my back has had a chance to recuperate.
During this recuperation, I've been watching lots of dvds. Catching up on old shows I never got to see the first time 'round. That sort of thing. I've recently gotten Wonderfalls and have to say I rather like it. It's quirky and charming. It's a shame they only got to air four episodes. I bought Arrested Development, season 3, to complete my set. I adore the show. I don't think any show has ever made me laugh so hard in my life. I can't wait for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia to come out on dvd. I'd buy it in a second! It's like Arrested Development, but, well, wronger.
I've also seen The Da Vinci Code and I can't wait to read the book. I put off the book because you know how it goes. If you read the book first, you hate the movie. If you watch the movie first, it's not always so bad. So now I'm free to read the book. Luckily, I bought it for my father's birthday a year or so back, so I've already got it. Right now, though, I'm reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. I'm about half way through it and really liking it.
The very last thing occupying my time? Weffriddles. Still. I've become obsessed. I'm currently on level 63 and ripping out my hair. I've nearly quit a few times, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm too much of a masochist, I guess. I don't know what I'll do with my stack of notes-- Oh, yes, notes. You read correctly-- once I'm finished. Light a bonfire, perhaps, toast some marshmallows, burn an effigy..
Hope you feel better soon! And I really admire your patience with the Banshee!

Yaaaay you're back :o)
How painful, hope you're on the mend. Not seen any of the tv shows mentioned....we're usually ten years behind!!
I loved the Da Vinci Code, it got bad publicity here so i didn't bother seeing it at the movies. I'm really sorry now i waited, a big screen would have been brilliant.
Dee- It's scary to realize that this woman (Banshee) is the same age as my mother and behaves as she does..
Michelle- I'm not shocked you've never heard of Sunny. Most people hear haven't either. It's a relatively small summer show. And Arrested Development struggled for three seasons before it was finally canceled last year. Both were wickedly funny shows, though. I'd heard of Wonderfalls, but never watched it while it was on. It only aired four shows, so it wasn't on long at all. But I'd heard good things, so I thought I'd check it out. I'd have to say, it is worth checking out. It's a shame it got canceled so early, too.
I'm fascinated by anything with religious themes, so The Da Vinci Code was right up my alley. The puzzles were a plus. I'm eager to read the book now. I've put it off this long..
sounds like you caught a spot of the violet zaki. rub some olive oil on it. that's what mee-ma used to have us do.

J- I not only rub olive oil on it, but drizzle a little balsamic vinegar, too. Who says plagues can't be fun and delicious?
I know these things, MATT!@!@ I'm a level 64 Grand Thetan!

Weffriddles & More
Re: your back - Ouch! I hope the meds help and you're better very soon. Back pain is the worst because it limits almost everything.
Re: Weffriddles. I take no responsibility for getting you hooked on those. I mean, all I did was /mention/ them :) (I'm stalled at level 54, I think. I haven't looked at them since before Xmas. Now I have to. DRAT!

Miss Meliss- My back is much better thanks! I'm off the pills later this week.
Good. Then I won't be the only one suffering here. Mwahahaha!
